Pack your picnic basket carefully: cool bags, ice packs, plastic plates, cutlery, cups, napkins, salt and pepper shakers, and the all-important picnic blanket. Wet wipes are ideal for the inevitable sticky fingers!
Think about what foods will travel well: fill plastic boxes with simple sandwiches, pork pies, quiches, green salad, pasta salad, potato salad, cooked meats, olives and coleslaw.
Remember that if it's a scorcher, certain desserts may melt! Fruit salads, fairy cakes, flap jacks, muffins are ideal, but if you can't live without your chocolate fix, make sure it's packed away in a cool bag complete with ice packs.
For refreshing drinks, blend your own summer smoothies, make your own home-made lemonade, or if you fancy something a little stronger, summer punch or wine is ideal - but don't forget the corkscrew!
For al fresco eating why not try making your own smoothie lollies - simply whizz equal weights of frozen berries and CARNATION Condensed Milk together in a blender, fill into lolly moulds and freeze until solid (2-3hours).
